Veteran & Community Health Event
Kent and Medway Cancer Alliance and Spring Lane Neighbourhood Health Centre in Canterbury are running a free community health event on Monday, 22 September for local veterans and residents.
NHS and community teams will be on hand to provide information and guidance on a range of topics, including lung health, diabetic eye screening, cancer support, stop smoking advice and more.
The event is free to attend, and refreshments will be available.

- Lung health checks: for 55-74 year olds and current or former smokers
- Stop smoking advice: free carbon monoxide readings & information on a quit smoking programme
- Diabetic eye screening: information and resources
- SEK Cancer Smart project: info on symptoms, self-checking and screening
- Crossroads Care Kent: providing support for people with cancer and their carers
- Hepatitis C Trust: offering hepatitis C screening & BBV awareness information
- Canterbury Food Bank: helping local people in crisis
- The Financial Hardship Team: Support for Kent residents with essentials, bills, digital access, safety, and referrals
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening: information and screening for men aged 65+
- Complimentary refreshments
