What to do when the Medical Centre is closed…

The University Medical Centre is closed between 6.30 pm – 8.00 am on weekdays (except for pre-booked clinics on some Tuesdays/Thursdays) and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

If you have an urgent medical problem when the Medical Centre is closed please dial 111
This number is free of charge from mobiles & land-lines.

If you have a life threatening emergency please dial 999

What assistance can I expect from NHS 111?

You will initially be asked some questions to find out what help you need and then you will be advised appropriately as to which service you require.

 

Using Health Help Now out of hours

Health Help Now is a free website or mobile app that you can use to find the most appropriate local health service for common symptoms, and advice for people of all ages. Visit Health Help Now or search “Health Help Now” in your app store.

 

University Nursing Service

Alternatively, in university term time only, a Nurse is available in the University Nursing Service. This facility  is for the Students of the UoK only and can be found next to Campus Security
