Do I have to see my GP before I can be seen? Yes, you need to make an appointment with your GP to discuss a referral to the service.

Is the service confidential? Yes, this is a fully confidential service.

What happens once I have been referred? Once we have received your referral and it has been triaged by one of our Psychotherapists, we will contact you to arrange an initial assessment.

Who will I be seeing? You will be seen by a Psychotherapist who has experience in working with people with Eating Disorders.

How long will I have to wait to be seen? Once we are in receipt of your referral, you will be contacted within 7 days to arrange an appointment for an initial assessment. This initial assessment will be within 28 days of being referred.

What happens at the assessment? You will be seen by one of our Psychotherapists who will take a history of your problem and assess the severity of the condition.

What happens if I am not appropriate for the service after assessment? If you have been referred to the service and after assessment present outside of our referral criteria then we will contact your referring GP and signpost you to the most appropriate service for your needs.

How long will I be seen for? You will be offered between 6 and 20 sessions depending on your progress within the service.
